Balcony Suite at White Lotus Eco Spa Retreat

I had three main issues, listed below, with number one being a potential danger that was dismissed by the owner, David, and initially rejected by the property manager, Keith, stating that he was unaware of and it took over an hour of communication to get him to apologize. Nothing was offered to right these wrongs, which makes me reluctant to visit again (which i was plannjng on doing in just a few weeks with a group of friends) Below is the text is sent the property manager, with the onlu solution being offered was "oh the breakee for the jacuzzi tub was tripped. Sorry". "Okay, thanks for the response. This is Jordan in the Balcony Suite - I'm actually checking out and loading up my car now. A few things to improve on constructively: 1) The main Balcony door has a small pin that can lock it from the inside - It needs to be tightened or a washer put behind to prevent it from locking. I was locked on the balcony in my bedroom slippers for two hours last night; after shouting and hollering to wake anyone nearby up for an hour and trying to call both you and David multiple times, I called the sheriff's office for assistance. The deputy actually was the one who discovered the pin in the door after several minutes of troubleshooting with me because we were both bewildered (painted over and almost impossible to see). 2) The heat pump in the split system barely works - I had it cranked to max heat (89°F) and it could only heat the room up 59°F overnight and 62°F as I check out. 3) The jets in the bathtub jacuzzi don't work :( Thank you,"

My wife and I have been coming to the White Lotus in the Fall for the past 4 years. We've stayed in the Balcony Suite twice and the Treehouse Suite once, and would recommend both. We love the White Lotus because of its quiet environment, relaxing décor, and its convenient location. From the White Lotus we can wake up, make coffee and a quick breakfast, and drive to Shenandoah for a day hike. Then we can stop back in, shower, change, and head into Charlottesville for a nice dinner. In between we enjoy walking the grounds, looking at the new upgrades and additions, and hanging out with the friendly cats!

Commune with nature and Find your Inner Peace at the White Lotus Retreat Positive: White Lotus is a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the journey. My wife and I actually live about 20 minutes away, and needed a place to crash for the night while the HVAC guys worked on our house. For the same price as DoubleTree, you can stay in an incredibly peaceful place in rustic -- perhaps even ancient surroundings. The furnishings consist of a tasteful collage of rare antiques and modern amenities. Each room has its own kitchen and dining room, but there are also multiple communal ones to accommodate your larger gatherings, and several complementary natural food and beverage selections. I particularly enjoyed walking/hiking through the immense grounds replete with nature's best including 100 foot tall white birch trees and giant bamboo. Coffee lovers will appreciate grinding their own beans and making their own French press brew. Negative: When we arrived around 4:00 p.m., there was a loud hum in our room. We investigated a little and thought maybe it was the washing machine on the other side of the wall, but later found that their primary HVAC is in desperate need of attention. Kind of ironic since we were there while our home was getting a new one! The good news is that it quieted down after 9:00 p.m. so we still got plenty of sound sleep.

Our stay was absolutely lovely ! A special place.
