Zen Suite at the White Lotus Eco Spa Retreat

For the money I paid for this unit I will never go back Positive: Location was OK. Scenery was beautiful. Negative: The room was beautiful, but the bed was terrible. Bed was up against the wall and had to crawl over my wife to get out of the bed.. Terrible.

Our previous 3 stays at White Lotus have been for a week, but this time we stayed for 10 days. We were in the Zen Suite. Previously we stayed in the Maharaja Suite twice and the Castle once. The Zen Suite boasts a 2300 year old Chinese bed and it did not disappoint. The wood carvings on it are intricate & astounding. The Green Barn in general is filled with fine antiques and light fixtures and is an amazing architectural achievement being solidly built with fine woods and unique features. We really enjoy all the thoughtfully designed spaces on the whole complex, but there is plenty of activities nearby, so we keep coming. Congrats to David for his vision and execution!

Thank you so much for sharing your lovely retreat with us and we enjoyed our suites, the creativity, and the rest of the Barn amenities! We wish we could've spent more time exploring the rest of the property but appreciated the time we spent there. We will be back 🙂

This was a very interesting place to stay. Nestled in the woods very close to the Shenandoah National Park and within striking range of Charlottesville, you will have a great time exploring the surroundings. The grounds were a creative wonderland and you have to see them to understand.The Zen Barn, it must be enunciated, is a very communal space. Directly below you will be a shared kitchen, you will share the building with other lodgers, but you will have a private entrance.I suggest that you complete a Meyer's Briggs personality inventory. If you score an I, then consider a more private location. If you are a couple attempting to have "private" time, consider that a 200 year old chinese bed might be a little creaky.
