Farmview Cottage at White Lotus Eco Spa Retreat

We had a great stay in the Farmview house. The house was clean and fully equipped. At the porch you have a nice view and we saw lots of birds and even a deer.

I really wanted to enjoy our stay here but ultimately the cons outweighed the pros. Pros: - beautiful nature (saw a Pileated Woodpecker within 10 minutes of arriving) - easy check-in process - woodstove (did not use this as it was too warm when we visited but definitely a cool feature) Cons: - dirty (men's socks next to the couch, half-eaten gummy bear in the bathroom, crusty dishes) - shower was clogged and the bath spigot rattled in the wall (unable to shower while staying here) - mattress was uncomfortable (admittedly subjective but worth noting) - red wasp nest on the back porch - TV remote didn't have batteries in it Netural: - bugs, no big deal as this is part of renting a cabin in the woods but may turn off others - no service, again part of renting a cabin in the woods but including here for others (there is WIFI though!)

I needed a quiet getaway to catch up on work and this was perfect for that.

Would definitely come back - loved the Farmview Cottage and intrigued by the Hobbit house. Positive: Lovely space. Fascinating eclectic collection of accommodations from the hobbit house to the treehouse. Stayed in the Farmview Cottage which was just perfect with its own, well-stocked kitchen, thoughtful complimentary coffee beans, tea, hand soap and shower gel/shampoo. (It would have been nice to have more glassware… we had to borrow a wine glass from the Zen Barn communal kitchen). Loved the vibe of the Zen Barn - could see bringing a larger group there for an event. Negative: Oppressively hot when we stayed there (not the property’s fault). Knew about the dipping pool and thought about using it, but found it drained/empty. Lots of apparent “work in progress” going on all around the property. Assuming that’s based on a “vision” for upgrade/transformation and hope the owners can bring that to fruition - this place has tremendous potential as a “destination” only a 2 hr drive from NOVA, and 20-25 minutes from Charlottesville

Positive: Everything’s perfect
