Suite Maharaja at the White Lotus Eco Spa Retreat

Although we had a two night reservation, my wife & I decided to leave a day early. We only stayed one night because the mattress was extremely uncomfortable. The mattress was sinking in the middle so much that we were leaning in towards one another & couldn’t get to sleep. I finally decided to use folded blankets & slept in the floor, we were sliding towards the middle. Neither of us slept much & was soooo tired the next day. The property itself was beautiful, calming, but without proper sleep we couldn’t enjoy. The maintenance guy that came to give a temporary fix was friendly & apologized. It seems there were wooden slats missing & pieces of thin floor board were used to try to hold up. Leaving the mattress to sink. After many attempts to try to fix, he & I together lowered the mattress on to the floor. I don’t mind helping someone lifting but it also added to the feelings we had about staying. We appreciate his attempt to fix things & how friendly he was as well ( really nice guy) but finally decided we were so exhausted we wanted to go home. This was not the experience we hoped, especially since this was the first time in many years. A mini getaway together, just the two of us without kids in years. We’d prefer to have our money back & will be contacting soon.

We had a great time in the Maharaja Suite. It is beautiful. The bed was very comfortable.

We had a great time staying at the White Lotus. It's hard to describe but I think the pictures are accurate. It's a cross between a bed and breakfast and glamping. LOTS OF OPEN SPACE for walking and for kids. Different rooms in different buildings all with different amenities. Everything is hand built and furniture donated so very low key and homey. Not a typical hotel. If you like white sterile rooms, don't go there. Very 'earthy' and mellow. Great for big groups that want to have campfires and space to spread out. Our room had a huge deck and grill, access to a huge lodge room with darts and a big fully equipped kitchen to share with a couple other rooms. Highly recommend!!

This is my third time staying at white lotus and every time, I’m so glad I decided to stay. Comfortable, communal, and calming- can’t ask for anything more!

What a unique and beautiful place! Loved my stay, eventhough it was only one night. I stayed in the green barn and the communal areas reminded me of some of my amazing hostel stays along the A.T. Except, when I went back to my room it was it's own fully set up private hotel room! Rustic charm with all the modern conveniences. And most importantly very clean as well. I definitely plan to come back for a longer stay and bring the family with me next time! Thanks David:)
